Fall Leaves: An introduction to painting plants with watercolors
Learn the basic techniques for creating a botanical painting. This 2-hour workshop will be an exchange of demonstrations and exercises designed to promote your understanding of how to develop a botanical painting. Have a fall leaf ready at hand for the class. Sally Petru will guide you through measuring and drawing your leaf onto watercolor paper followed by the application of watercolor from wet to dry brush. All levels are welcome. A materials list will be provided.

Sally Petru
Sally Petru is a botanical artist with 20 years of experience. She has taught both beginners and experienced artists around the bay area since 2011. Sally obtained her Certificate of Botanical Illustration from Filoli in Woodside and is a member of their florilegium. Sally is currently exhibiting in the ASBA 23rd Annual International exhibition and was accepted into the New York Botanical Garden/ASBA 4th Triennial exhibition. She finds that teaching botanical art solidifies her command of this discipline and gives here the opportunity to interact with others who appreciate botanical art.
