Produced by Ron Chapman (Chapman Productions), From Earth To Sky follows seven diverse Indigenous Architects from North America: the first woman architect in North America, Tammy Eagle Bull, with Wanda Dalla Costa, Alfred Waugh, Brian Porter, Daniel Glenn, Patrick Stewart, and Douglas Cardinal, the first Indigenous architect in North America.
All express the vitality of Indigenous architecture and define their individuality through their artistry, and bond in their philosophy and principles of protecting the planet. The narrative is a beautiful blend of common ground and conflicting points of view, and through the characters’ personal and professional stories, the film articulates Indigenous architecture and its relevance in today’s world. An international movement ignites as they visit New Zealand to collaborate with Maori and Indigenous architects and designers from around the world.
Together these Indigenous architects are changing the world, influencing humanity to consider the built environment having impact on our planet and guiding us to the possibility of a sustainable future.

Daniel GlennAIA, NCARB, AICAE, Principal, 7 Directions ArchitectsDaniel is a nationally recognized Native American architect specializing in culturally responsive architecture and sustainable design that reflect his Crow Tribal heritage. He was the Design Architect for the University of Montana Payne Family Native American Center, a LEED Platinum project, and for the Little Big Horn College Campus Plan and Buildings in his family’s hometown of Crow Agency on the Crow Reservation in Montana. Mr. Glenn was a technical advisor for the HUD Sustainable Construction in Indian Country Initiative. He is featured with six other Indigenous architects in the documentary films, From Earth to Sky, and Aboriginal Architecture / Living Architecture which aired on PBS in 2005. He is a regularly invited speaker at national and international conferences and his work was exhibited in Unceded: Voices of the Land, and exhibition of First Nations and Native American architects at the 2018 Venice Biennale.
