Haiku in the Gardens—Spring
Join us as we celebrate in Haiku the arrival of nature’s Biggest Event, Verdant Fields on Parade!
Let line by line cadence—as if a drum roll —Awaken Spring’s Harmony at
Marin Art and Garden Center
This is a two-hour soiree for writing haiku inspired by color, scent, sound and touch of Springtime. Discover what promises ‘Her Majesty’ has kept in a year’s passing. Count the elongated syllables in breath held watching her drama hold back our blink of an eye!
Haiku writings of 17 syllables is our objective, but our intention is to write and share as if toasting the botanicals! Your guide, poet Jayne McPherson, will introduce traditional and modern haiku and offer exercises to open and engage the senses.
For all ages, this is a shared, fun invitation to experience nature’s harmony. We hope to cultivate a deep appreciation for the power of nature to contribute to our well-being.
Writing is rewarding but haiku writing is the toast of a soiree!
This free workshop has a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 32. This soiree is offered to all ages and children under 14 may sign up with an adult. Please bring pen and paper or your preferred writing supplies.
