I am best described as a person who has a lot of interests. I like to try new things and usually say “yes, I want to try that! There are three interests that have followed me throughout my life. They are knitting, studying Chinese and swimming. I fell in love with knitting when my grandma taught me how to knit a bright orange scarf when I was in fourth grade. I fell in love with the Chinese language and culture when a famous Chinese poet came to my college to teach us about his culture. Then I fell in love with swimming when I was 35 and also continued swimming with a master’s group to stay fit and energized. My career was in aquatics. I built a swim program for all ages at Mt Tam Racquet Club and a summer camp for kids called the Multi Sport Kids Camp.
I am inspired by anything made by hand. A beautiful weaving, a macrame wall hanging, a turned piece of wood, a beautiful clay vase to name a few. For the past 5 years I worked at the Knit House On Main in Tiburon until they closed recently. There, I realized I love to be with people who want to create and I love passing on to others things that I have learned. It is great to be surrounded by people who love knitting like I do!

With over a lifetime of experience in knitting and a deep passion for all fiber art, I am excited to bring my skills and knowledge to a leadership role within a knitting group. Throughout my journey, I have honed my knitting expertise, dabbled in crochet, and am currently pursuing the art of weaving, all of which have enriched my creative process and understanding of the textile world.
My hands-on experience includes working with a variety of yarns, fibers, and techniques to create intricate patterns, garments, and home decor items. I have managed a local Marin County knit store (Knit House on Main) where I developed relationships with teachers, designers, yarn representatives, and of course, students, and customers. Whether it’s hosting monthly project challenges, sharing tips and tricks, or simply enjoying the camaraderie that comes with crafting together, I am eager to help the group grow and create something beautiful from yarn.
