Lee McCaffree is a botanical illustrator in watercolor. She began her career in London, England. She has exhibited in England and at venues throughout the U.S. Her work is in collections at Kew Gardens, Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation, Filoli Florilegium and The Huntington Gardens, CA. Lee’s work concentrates on native plants which she hopes will increase their visibility, conservation and use in public and private landscaping. Her skill as a botanical artist allows her to focus her creativity on the finest details of each plant she paints. She has been an instructor in Filoli’s Botanical Art Certificate program, American Society of Botanical Artists meetings, local gardens and her private classes. Her enthusiasm inspires her students to develop their own skills and enjoy the creative process. She is a co-juror with Kristin Jakob for the Mt. Tam Florilegium.
