The official collective noun for a group of gardeners is known as a sprinkle. Other ones I’ve heard through the years include a dig of gardeners and a society of gardeners.
Another name for a group of gardeners that come together regularly at Marin Art and Garden Center is the Horticultural Advisory Committee. I personally call this group the awesome assembly of people I admire and respect.
Each of the experienced voices in our “sprinkle” (of gardeners) helps inform and guide the present and future of the gardens in our beautiful corner of Marin County.
Call it what you will, a sprinkle, a dig, a society, or awesome—or all of it. I am honored to have the guidance of the Horticultural Advisory Committee. Just one more reason I love being the Garden Manager at Marin Art and Garden Center.
