Explore Sketching for Fun
Sketching is a fun way to record things whether it is something in nature or a memory. This is an opportunity try something new or practice sketching. We will visit the current Sketchbook Exhibit at the Studio at the Garden Center to give the class an inspiration. Instructor Lee McCaffree’s enthusiasm will inspire you to develop your skills and enjoy the creative process.
Participants will use basic tools, pen or pencil, as they start with simple drawings. The object is to do quick sketches and get something down on paper. There will be opportunities for many sketches without concern for perfection. As the class moves to more complicated subjects students can add more details. These images can lead to further study or be a memory journal. If desired, color can be added in many ways such as colored pencil, water color pencil or paints.
This will be an outside workshop at tables, so supplies should be basic. All levels of experience are welcome to explore. Experienced artists may bring the color tools you usually use. The purpose of sketching is to create quick drawings. We will do many images. The works we create are for ourselves. Let’s have fun.
